A full week for Anna Vissi in America!!!
Following her successful stint of appearances at Hotel Ermou and her two spectacular concerts in Cyprus at “Ola Ellinika Limassol”, Anna Vissi, along with her band and colleagues took off for America!! Concerts, events and many warm family moments were waiting for Anna Vissi in New York.
On the 14th May she appeared at the Young Professionals “After Dark” party, a special event following the annual gala at the National Hellenic Museum for young professionals at the Hilton’s Grand Ballroom in Chicago. As always, like only she can, Anna stole the hearts of the crowds with her vocals!!
Just the previous evening, she was at the National Hellenic Museum for a dinner with the members of the museum!
The week continued with a meet & greet with the students from Intercollegiate Hellenic Society (HIS) on the 16th May. She spoke, hugged and got pictured with each person individually, listening to each of the young students’ efforts and struggles to get ahead in life and giving them the motivation to continue with what they are doing!!
In a mini interview – in a conversation with Nikos Antoniadis (Advisor of Political Marketing and Communications and member of the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) she revealed the reason why she has not given any interviews in the last year despite the fact her album was entitled “Sinentefski” literally translating to “interview”!!!
“Niko, I feel that I am in a stage of my life where I have said everything and now find myself in a more relaxed and able place in my career where all I want to be is happy and to sing the songs I love and to express myself through the lyrics of my songs. These days, I believe that interviews, in my opinion, are useless if I have nothing meaningful to say. People have so much to think about when it comes to their daily life that I do not feel that reading “about Anna’s life” (if I have gained or lost weight, my clothes, my relationships” will provide them with anything important”
Of her meeting with the students of Intercollegiate Hellenic Society, Anna Vissi said “What brings me close to the students is our shared love of music which is why it was such a nice feeling to feel all the positive energy coming from these students that are living away from home. Their enthusiasm and honesty was like a breath of fresh air and I hope that they continue to follow their dreams and make them a reality”. Anna also had a piece advice for them all about overcoming difficulties in life: “To follow your dreams and not give up and chase them with passion and determination!
