A great voice at the Royal Festival Hall!

24 May 2009

The first sounds of the adorable "Apagorevmeno" were the opening of Anna's first summer concert at the Royal Festival Hall in London. Anna said hello to the crowd in greek, english and... cypriot, saying that "In England we always have a great time"! She kept on singing beloved songs, amongst which "Kane kati" and "Min psachnis tin agapi". Her dynamism in "Gia ena lepto" and in "Alitissa psichi" was a very nice surprise, while the rock version of "Klima tropiko" left us being... speechless for her energy, passion and her wonderful voice! One of the highlights was certainly the point that Anna called Jermaine Brown to come on stage. Brown is Anna's new choreographer for her long-awaited Summer Tour. The two of them danced a medley which included "Den me agapas", "Ise" and "Call me".

During the second part of the concert and in a cool mood, Anna chose to sing many great hits throughout her long career (from "Me agapi apo mena gia sena" by Karvelas, to "S' agapo" by Kougioumtzis), making her fans leave their sits and stand in front of the stage, and the security guards be very surprised!

Among those who attended, one could see the famous actor Armand Assante (Anna dedicated "Min pschnis tin agapi" to him), Ciro Orsini, as well as Lakis Gavalas, while after the first part of the concert Vera Boufi and Isaias Matiaba sang.

Anna sang for about 2,5 hours (since the rules of the theatre were very strict about the length of the concert), and said goodbye to her audience with her "sluts" ("Stin pira, stin pira!!!"), "Agapi ipervoliki" (her most hyper-dance song, as she called it some days before!), "Kravgi" and "Nylon", promising that we'll meet again in the end of June in her big concert in Athens!
