Press Interview for Star Academy
On Thursday 16 March at 20:00 we will see the much anticipated start of Star Academy Greece which will be broadcast via Epsilon in Greece and Megaone for Cyprus. This is when we will find out, for the first time, the shows' presenters. A few days ago we saw the official press interview in which many more details were given.
The press interview took place at Hotel Ermou, where Anna Vissi continues to sing every Friday and Saturday nights. Present at the press interview were the judges Anna Vissi, Nikos and Petros Kostopoulos, the vocal coaches Vasilis Kostopoulos and Polina Prelorentzou, the Academy's head Katerina Kagkaki and many others.
The 16 singers, 8 girls and 8 boys, all of which above the age of 18, will stay for the next 4 months in a luxury purpose designed house where they will have daily vocal coaching, mentoring, styling and gym sessions. In the house, there will be cameras that will film exactly what they get up to on a daily basis and the housemates will also have the chance to speak with loved ones on a weekly basis. The singers will be put through their paces as the production team have already suggested that there will be many surprises in store for us and them. Their song choices will not be random as, apart from their great voices that helped them get into the house in the first place, they each have personalities to suit for the televised part of the reality show.
Every week, each Saturday to be exact, there will be a live show where the contestants will showcase their attempts, following a week of lessons, with their chosen song. In the first instance, the judging panel headed up by Anna Vissi, Nikos Karvelas, Petros Kostopoulos and Natalia Germanou will pass their own judgements on the performance of each contestant. Following this, Katerina Kagkaki, as the judging panel’s President, along with other coaches from the Academy will meet together to decide on 3 contestants for elimination. At this point, the viewing public will be able to vote for the favourite contestants and save them from being eliminated. The two singers with the lowest votes will be up for elimination which will be ultimately decided by the judging panel. Only 3 contestants will make the final and the winner will receive a record contract with Panik Records!!
With regards to the show Anna said: “All times of music are important in our lives. I do not understand why discrimination are made. We need all types of music to be on the same level. Vicky Mosholiou was a legendary popular voice, we would love to find the next one”.
