Hotel Ermou - Season 3 - The sequel to the pleasant surprises!!!
The third consecutive season of shows at Hotel Ermou got underway last night, Friday 10th November, with Anna Vissi welcoming us once again to her home for this winter. With a very humorous video, Anna decided to start the show off while her band started to play the Intro. It reminded us a lot of her rockumentary show “Oso eho foni” that she released a few years ago. The programme started with Anna singing “Erota mou apiste” one of the biggest songs from her album “Nylon”.
It appeared that Anna did a good job at looking back at her vast selection of albums to find and include in her set list loved (and hard to sing) ballads that we have not heard in a while. The crowd would not be able to hide their Fannatic side with songs such as “Thivet”, “Auti ti fora”, “Moni mou”, “Apagoreumeno” and “Alitisa Psixi”. The set list also included the English “No tomorrow” as well the fans’ guilty pleasure, if we are allowed to say, “Ora na fevgw”. Anna said from that start that this year she was looking to choose songs to create an even warmer atmosphere at her shows.
Among the evening’s surprises was the outstanding rendition of the song “Without you”. With the upmost respect and excellent interpretation, Anna sang some laika songs such as: “Mas ipoxreoses” and “Tin ayapousa to paradexome”.
But that was not all for those that were there yesterday. The best was saved till the end, when the crowd asked her to sing “Afou” once again as her last song. The song was released just this week and has really left its mark on us. As she said “the things they write that bothers them, the funny thing is that they are touching” and we would not be able to not recongise an artist’s guts to be tested and judged for a song that contains a piece of her worldviews.
