Anna Vissi at the 1st Cyprus Gay Pride Parade!!!
«First Gay Pride in Cyprus!! I was very happy to walk with young open minded people .. It filled me with optimism !!!!

True to her word, Anna Vissi attended the 1st Cyprus Gay Pride Parade and did not simply join the march but also posed for pictures, talked to every participant who came up to her, joked around and surprised everyone with her modesty!
Anna, dressed in casual sport style, arrived just after 17.00 at Eleftheria Square where she listened attentively to the speeches given by organisers and party representatives and then she herself addressed the public.
«I hope that from now on, every following year, this will only take place in order to celebrate and not demonstrate.»
«We all know that racism will always exist, let's all make sure that we won't be the ones to spread it, me, you, us.»
«John Lennon used to say “Do not hate what you do not understand”.»
Watch the whole speech (N.B.For English subtitles make sure you turn ON closed captions):
The crowd wildly cheered her on and her words gave hope and strength to many people.
Following that, she walked with the crowd, taking selfies, photobombing fans, and bantering wiith everyone around her throughout the march, which terminated at the Parliament.
After the march, an event at the Nicosia Municipal Garden behind the Parliament took place, which Anna attended. She sat among participants and spread smiles, joy and optimism.
Some people are gay...get over it!!! «We all have equal rights in love, in life, in everyday life». See you next year at the 2nd Cyprus Gay Pride Parade with the hope that by then racism will be...under extinction!
Tell us what you think here!
