Do you think you know everything there is to know about Anna Vissi?

2005
Anna returns to Greece with a brand new album ("Nylon") and a new sponsor! The comeback is very dynamic and rewards fANNAtics for patiently waiting for her return!
22/1/2005 Another innovative project is introduced to Greece by Anna Vissi. Pizza Pomodoro is inaugurated at the area of Kolonaki. It is a collaboration between Anna, Ciro Orsini (its creator in London and other big cities) and Chrisanthos Panas (Greek businessman). Many celebrities and journalists attend the event, but what we will remember forever are the words of Nikos Karvelas to the media, after the event...
Pomodoro, Opening
18/8/2005 Devastated by the terrible plane crash of a Cypriot plane in Grammatiko (Greece) and her 121 dead compatriots, Anna cancels her concerts which were scheduled for September at Kourion amphitheatre, in Cyprus. Anna was planning to give 3 concerts in early September, with a title "Best of Anna", focusing on her best songs with a different approach than the one we are used to seeing in her live shows. Unfortunately her fans lost the opportunity to witness this unique show by Anna, but the seriousness of the situation and the pain caused to a whole nation was something nobody could ignore...
27/6/2005 Call me (cd single – Gold)
27/9/2005 Anna’s new album Nylon is finally out! It conquers her admirers and soon becomes #1 and Platinum in Greece and Cyprus (as always), due to its new musical style and design. What is new about the album? The pop/rock style of music, Anna’s amazing R'n'B/rap duet with the Goin’ Through band ("Erota i polemo") by Nikos Karvelas and the song called "Venetia" (Venice), which has elements of autobiography. The album is also released in dual disk, a new and innovative format, combining a cd and a dvd at the same time, for the first time in Greece!

5/2/2005 Anna gives a small present to her fans in one of her appearences at Pizza Pomodoro: she sings a song which is about to be included in her next album, "Nylon" (September 2005). The song is a wonderful ballad and its title is "Erota mou apiste"...
Anna may be at the States at the time but she is also present at the Mad VMA held in Athens! She appears in 2 videos, speaking to her fan club, which is of course once again there, rooting for her! Actually, in one of the videos, Anna asks the crowd whether her fan club is present, waiting for an answer and encouraging them to sing "Echo pethani gia sena" with her!
8/10/2005 Anna signs CDs and autographs at the GMV stores in New York. Anna never forgets her fans, wherever they are!
29/11/2005 Anna is back in Greece and organizes the Nylon party at Envy club (Athens) with her sponsor, Cosmote! It's a special party for fans, giving them the opportunity to listen to Anna's new songs and speak with her. A mass of journalists is also present to the event and Anna gives an interview.
25/8/2005 Anna’s fan club reaches 2.000.000 visitors!
8/12/2005 Anna's fan club has been active for 4 years! Its birthday party could not be held anywhere but Votanikos! The celebration is combined with Anna's name day. Anna and her team support the event and make sure that the fans can celebrate, sing and dance along with Anna for free for the whole night! TV channels cover the event, while recorded snippets from the event are also included in the tv version of the show, aired on Alpha TV, later that year. THANK YOU ANNA!
4/2/2005 The song "Pia thisia" by Angela Demetriou is withdrawn from the album "Live", after the inexplainable reactions of its songwriter. The singer supported Anna, but that wasn't enough to keep the song on the disk, a joint decision by Anna and her label, Sony.
5/4/2005 Arion awards: Anna is in LA, but she wins an award for her music video “Min psachnis tin agapi”, best clip for this year! The director, George Gavalos deserves it 100%!
8/4/2005 Anna is #1 in Billboard’s Hot Dance music club play chart!!! This is unprecedented for Greek artists! Soon, Call me peaks at #2 in Billboard’s Dance Radio airplay for the US, proving Anna’s international success, with a song played everywhere in USA and gaining airplay in 30 more countries around the world!
14/6/2005 2 more Mad Video music awards:
Best Dance Video (Echo pethani gia sena)
Sexiest artist in Video (Min psachnis tin agapi)
31/10/2005 Anna’s live DVD is still 4th on the Official Sales chart by Ifpi Greece, many months after its initial release! It is now Gold and it’s just the second DVD ever in Greece to reach this status!
"In every album we’ve made, me and Nikos think that there is a mistake there, either in lyrics or music and orchestration. I think that this album contains no mistakes.", Megalicious chart live, Mega Channel, 11/05
"Vissi is a star, there can be no discussion about it. You accept her for what she does, just as you accept Sakis Rouvas. Vissi and Rouvas are the biggest stars, the big commercial names.", 30/5/2005, Manos Eleftheriou, famous lyricist
8/8/2005 Anna appears in Mykonos (Greece), having a new look for her live performance at the Coca Cola Soundwave festival and shocks us! The shocking factor is the hair style. She has shaved an area on the right part of her head and adopts a rock/punk look, compatible with the nature of the festival she is going to sing, but very unusual in Greece! She is going to shoot 3 music videos with this look: the international music video for "Call me", the clip for Nylon and the clip for "Erota i polemo". The last two are included in her new album which is released one month later!
