Do you think you know everything there is to know about Anna Vissi?

The sudden and shocking death of Anna’s beloved producer and collaborator, Greg Ladanyi, minutes before the start of her final concert in Nicosia, Cyprus (25/9), is the most tragic end for Anna’s sweetest tour. Anna’s friend and producer fell from a high point inside the GSP stadium and died a couple of days after the accident. Anna, his family and the whole team had a hard time, and they have all our sympathies. OUR Greg, the man who contributed to one of Anna’s best albums so far, who took care of her live performances and was preparing Anna’s next international step, was burried in the U.S. in October. THE FABULOUS SHOW! The second part of the year lasts only for 2 months! 6/11, after a great deal of waiting, the biggest show in Athens begins! Exceptional visuals projected on huge screens, funny theatrical videos featuring Anna as the main characters, nice choreographies by Jermaine Brown and a team of guests that add quality and diversity to the show: famous Mario singing rebetiko with Anna, the band Ble and George Sabanis. Costumes are made by Patricia Field with the help of Anna’s daughter, Sofia Karvelas. Everything is directed and coordinated by Christine Crokos. The Fabulous show is here and Athens Arena, the biggest venue is full of fans and people curious to watch Anna’s show every day, while other venues in Athens stay half-empty... or worse! The show is praised by the media, even the most negative ones, and is the absolute talk of the town!

"Apagorevmeno+" is the repackaging of Anna’s successful album, in a special eco-package by Sony music. The concept remains the same, but new pics from the photo-shoot are included, as well as a new cover! As far as the tracklist is concerned, we can find 3 new songs (the hit "Fabulous", "Tavli" and "Ego s’agapao"), as well as 2 remixes by Alex Papaconstantinou (for "Stin pira" and "Apo makria ki agapimeni").

10/05/2009 After a three-year absense, Anna returns to the Live music scene by headlining the celebrations for the "Greek Music Week", organised by MAD TV and Sfera Radio! The unique concert at "Fuzz" club is the perfect opportunity for Anna to present, for the first time live in Greece, her new songs out of her album "Apagorevmeno".

Right before kicking off her three-month-long tour in Greece, Anna gives a big concert in London, at the prestigious Royal Festival Hall on 23/05/2009, giving her fans in the UK the opportunity to enjoy live performances of the Forbidden Songs!

9/3/2009 Fannatic.gr exclusively presents the music video for the song "Stin Pira", in its uncut version, and which features "Sex and the City" 's costume designer Patricia Field as a guest star!

Thousands of fannatics gathered outside "Fuzz" Club block off Vouliagmenis avenue! For a good reason: Anna is back, after 4 whole years, to headline MAD and Sfera's "Greek Music Week"! Fannatics.gr is the only official fan club to give out invitations to this very special evening. At the club's entrance, Anna autographs the collectible Fannatics poster!

The first "Apagorevmeno Summer Tour" official T-shirts are given out by Fannatics.gr to 20 lucky members, who are selected after a draw!

24/6/2009 Fannatic invasion at "Theatro Vraxon" for the 6th MAD VMA award ceremony. The admin team hands out T-shirts, water, food as well as flags featuring "Apagorevmeno"'s album cover (courtesy of Nikoleta Karakasi), helping fannatics stand out of the crowd all night long! A memorable moment when Anna grabbed the Summer Tour's poster out of her fans' hands to bring it up on stage!

16/8/2009 The first Fannatics live Cam Chat. Anna talks to her online fans via web cam from the backstage area at her concert at Trikala. On 10/7/2009, a similar scenario takes place in Salamina!

08/08/2009 Fannatics, now friends with each other, and with the determined Alexandra Zafiropoulou as the organiser, travel on a bus and as a group to Itea, to attend Anna's concert! (Thank you Anna!) After the trip's success, fannatics repeat the excursion to attend Patra's concert as well (02/09/2009)!!

10/10/2009 The music video for "Apo Makria ki Agapimenoi", which is dedicated to Greg Ladanyi, is first released exclusively by Fannatics!

At the major stops of the "Apagorevmeno Summer tour", Fannatics help at the booths selling official Anna Vissi merchandise, while the opportunity was provided for Anna's fans to register at Fannatics.gr, right there at the concert area!

20/12: In a rare moment for Greek singers, Anna receives wishes for her birthday by celebrities and simple fans via her video wall at Athens Arena! This is a surprise organised by Fannatics, the most innovative and the only Official fan club in Greece. The show is interrupted and fans and Greek celebs like Mario, Ble, George Sabanis, Anna’s sister, Takis Zacharatos, Natalia Germanou, Themis Georgantas and others appear on the big screen of Arena. Is a medley of numerous creative videos posted on YouTube the days before Anna’s birthday! Anna is deeply touched by this move, which she welcomes with tears and very warm words on stage. Later on, she receives a gift and a birthday cake by the Admin team of fannatics.gr. News, videos and pictures of this night circulate the media the next day.

Anna brings Hummel clothing to Greece! Her business activities now expand to sportswear and some of the famous clothes are worn by her in her new music videos!

Anna is in L.A. during Easter holidays, invited by the President of the Fox Channel, Jim Giannopoulos! Every year, Jim Giannopoulos organises a private party for Easter, in order to celebrate with his Greek and Greek-american friends. This year, Anna had the chance to celebrate, eat lamb, drink ouzo and sing with Tom Hanks, his wife Rita Wilson, Billy Zane and Maria Menounos!

Nikos Karvelas is present in the show, through... a video! Nikos took part in recording some of his duets with Anna, for the needs of the show. Anna gets on stage every night and sings "along with" Nikos their hits of the past. His presence at Athens Arena together with his ex-wife makes rumours spread: are Anna and Nikos friends again?

Anna has a new duet with international star Dave Stewart! The video of the song is part of the show at Athens Arena every night, dedicated to Greg Ladanyi. The name of the song is "Leap of faith".

24/06 Anna is the impressive closing act of this year’s Mad Video music Awards. She sings "Alitissa psichi" and "Stin pira", the2 hits of the year, combined with the astonishing choreographies of Jermaine Brown. Her fans are all over the Vrachon Theatre where the ceremony takes place and create a fantastic atmoshpere!

10/2/2009 Anna Vissi and the magazine Madame Figaro Cyprus initialize the "Anna Vissi Scholarship" together, the Cypriot super star offering help to a young and talented girl from Cyprus, on an annual basis. The selection criteria will be age, talent and motivation to follow Anna’s steps in music. The news were announced at the "Women of the year" awards, organised by Madame Figaro in Cyprus, and Anna was there to talk about this new effort.

"Friday night was one of the most strange nights of my life. The ugliest, the most tragic one. Within seconds, my great joy and lust to get on stage and sing in front of my compatriots after 4 years, turned into an unexpected drama.", message for the loss of her close friend and collaborator.

"It’s their job to say things. Let them write whatever they want! (...) First of all, her name is now Eftalia. I re-baptised her. (...) Anna asked me to sing with her. At the beginning I was a bit cautious. How could I do such a thing in a vast place? That’s a chaos! They jump, they dance, there is a set on stage. But it went ok... She told me that she listened to some of my CDs and was impressed by my voice. She wanted this to be the surprise of the year, that we sing rebetiko together. Anna can sing rebetiko. She was a folk singer on the first place, so why wouldn’t she sing rebetiko?", Mario, on Alpha tv, for all the comments on her collaboration with Anna.

We are not going to discuss such issues here. All we are going to say is that, in 2009, after 36 consecutive years in the music industry, everybody still has something to say about Vissi, in order to share a part of the publicity that comes along with her name. Wherever she goes, whatever she does. And that’s phenomenal!
